How to connect the TV Sound to a TV

Powering the device:

Two options to connect to power supply:

  • Via USB socket on the TV (TV should be turned on)
  • Via connection to a power outlet (Must supply at least 150 mA (0.75 W) of power)

Connect the audio input via optical cable:

  • Connect the TV Sound to the power supply (green inlet)
  • Connect the optical cable to the back of the TV Sound (blue inlet)
  • Connect the other end of the optical cable to the “Optical OUT” socket on the TV
  • Turn on the TV to start the audio

Connect the audio input via analog cable:

  • Connect the TV Sound to the power supply (green inlet)
  • Connect the analog cable to the back of the TV Sound (purple inlet)
  • Connect the other end of the analog cable into the corresponding sockets on the TV
  • Turn on the TV to start the audio

How to pair hearing aids with TV Sound

  • Turn on the TV Sound
  • Restart the hearing aids 
  • Place the hearing aids in pairing range (0 to 20 cm)
  • LED pulses blue while pairing
  • LED glows solid blue after successful pairing

TV Sound troubleshooting

Possible cause:
The device is connected to the headphone socket.

Solution:

  1. Connect the analog cable.
  2. Use a different output on the TV.
  3. Check the audio settings on the TV and set the loudspeakers to be used in parallel.

Possible cause:
The TV is not configured to send audio out via the optical out connector.

Solution:
Check the TV audio output settings (advanced settings).

Possible cause:
The analog connectors on the TV are only sound input.

Solution:

  1. Use the optical cable supplied with your device.
  2. Use a mini jack to mini jack cable and the headphone plug on your TV.
  3. Your TV may not be compatible with the device.

Possible cause:
The device has been placed in a drawer, or it is behind a wall.

Solution:
Place the device in line of sight.


Possible cause:
The device is out of range.

Solution:
Place the device into range.


Possible cause:
There is interference from other radio transmission sources

Solution:
Move away from other radio transmission sources.

Possible cause:
The device is overheating.

Solution:
Keep the device away from sunlight. Don't place it in a drawer and keep it away from the TV's heat vents.

Possible cause:
The hearing aids and the device are not paired.

Solution:
Pair the device and the hearing aids.


Possible cause:
The device is not connected properly to your TV.

Solution:
Check that the device is properly connected to the TV.


Possible cause:

The audio source is not turned on.

Solution:
Turn the audio source on.


Possible cause:

The hearing aid batteries are almost flat.

Solution:
Change the hearing aid batteries or charge the hearing aids.


Possible cause:
The hearing aids are not in the TV Sound program.

Solution:
Select the TV Sound program on the app.


Possible cause:
The volume is too low.

Solution:
Turn up the volume on the TV or the app.


Possible cause:
The device needs to be reset and paired with the hearing aids.

Solution:
Press the reset button for 5 seconds, and pair the device with the hearing aids.

  1.  Adjust the volume using the app or remote control.
  2. Check the advanced settings on your TV to see the volume settings.
